Invisalign tray

We now offer Invisalign®, a modern approach to straightening teeth.  A custom-made series of invisible plastic aligners are made specifically for you and gradually shift your teeth into place.  There are no metal wires or brackets, you just wear a new set of aligners every two weeks.  Your teeth will gently straighten based on the exact movements the dentist plans out for you. Invisalign® treatment provides minimal interference in how you live, but has a significant positive impact on how you look and feel about yourself.  This is much the same as Clear Correct orthodontics.

Invisalign can correct aesthetic imperfections with your teeth that may have occurred following traditional orthodontics as a child. However, we can also treat functional imbalances that lead to premature wear of the teeth. This wear can cause the need for extensive future dental treatment.

Wearing clear aligners requires some adaptation. It can mildly effect your speech which most people rapidly adapt to.  They are nearly invisible and often comfortable.  As with traditional braces, there can be some discomfort when initially starting your aligners or changing to a new set of aligners.  This improves over the course of hours or days.  Retainers should be worn 20-22 hours per day and taken out only to eat, drink, floss and brush.  You may drink only water with your aligners in place.
Treatment time can only be determined following a thorough evaluation, however, the average time for an adult is around 12 months.
